Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Anatomely (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) helps you learn human anatomy through short lessons and quizzes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Anatomely is designed to be local-first: you can use it without an account, and your learning progress stays on your device unless you choose to sign in and sync.

Information we collect

We collect as little as possible, and only what the feature you use requires:

  • Nothing, if you just learn. Browsing lessons, quizzes, and the interactive skeleton requires no account. Your streak, XP, bookmarks, and quiz history are stored only on your device.
  • Account information (optional). If you create an account, we store your username, your email address (if you provide one), and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
  • Sign in with Apple or Google (optional). If you use these, we receive a unique identifier and, where you permit it, your email address, solely to create and secure your account. We do not receive your password.
  • Learning progress (only when signed in). To sync across your devices, we store your progress — bones studied, quiz results, streaks, XP, achievements, daily goals, and bookmarks — associated with your account.
  • Technical logs. Our servers keep standard operational logs (such as IP address and request metadata) for a limited time to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use your information

  • To provide the app and save and sync your learning progress.
  • To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
  • To operate, maintain, and protect the service against abuse.
  • To respond to your questions or support requests.

We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.

How your information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share data only with service providers that make Anatomely work, and only as needed:

  • Hosting infrastructure that runs our website and API and stores account data on our behalf.
  • Apple and Google, if you choose their sign-in, to authenticate you.
  • Legal requirements, if we are required by law to disclose information.

Data security & retention

Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing, and data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Progress stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.

Your choices & rights

  • Use without an account. You can learn without giving us any personal information.
  • Access or delete your account. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Local data. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes the progress kept on your device.

Children's privacy

Anatomely is a general-audience educational app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using Anatomely, you consent to this transfer, processing, and storage.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
